About SizeSnap
A free, private, and practical image resizing tool — built out of real frustration, designed for real people.
What Is SizeSnap?
SizeSnap is a free, browser-based image resizing and compression tool. It lets you resize any photo to an exact kilobyte target — whether that's 100KB for a government portal, 50KB for an exam form, 20KB for a digital signature, or any custom size you need.
Unlike most online tools that upload your files to a remote server, SizeSnap processes everything directly inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never sent anywhere. They never touch our servers. They stay entirely on your device — from upload to download.
No account. No subscription. No watermarks. No file size meter ticking down. Just a tool that works.
Why SizeSnap Was Built
This project started from a very specific, very annoying problem: government and institutional web portals that demand images within a precise file size — and then give you a vague error message when you get it wrong.
Students applying for university admissions, professionals submitting applications to government departments, job seekers uploading passport photos to HR portals — all of them face the same issue. They have a 5MB image, and the portal says "maximum 50KB." They try to compress it, but their phone camera produces massive files. The free tools online are cluttered with fake download buttons, aggressive ads, or file size limits behind a paywall.
SizeSnap was built to solve this cleanly. You upload. You select your target size. You download an image that meets the requirement — every time, without guesswork.
Who Is SizeSnap For?
SizeSnap is designed specifically for:
- Students applying to universities or scholarships that require a photo under 100KB or 50KB.
- Job applicants submitting resumes or applications to portals with strict image upload limits.
- Government form filers in Bangladesh, India, and other countries where passport photos, NID scans, or signature images must meet exact specifications.
- Exam candidates applying for SSC, HSC, JSC, PSC, UPSC, SSC, or any competitive exams that have rigid photo and signature size rules.
- Freelancers and professionals who regularly manage image assets and need quick format conversion and compression without expensive software.
If you've ever been told "image must be between 10KB and 100KB" and had no idea how to achieve that — SizeSnap was made for you.
Your Privacy Comes First
Privacy is not an afterthought here — it's the foundation of how SizeSnap works. When you use SizeSnap's core resizing and compression features, your image is loaded into your browser's memory, processed using JavaScript and the Canvas API, and then handed back to you as a downloadable file. Nothing is ever transmitted to any server.
The optional Cloudinary upload feature — which lets you generate a secure hosted link for your processed image — uses a server-signed upload process where the upload goes directly from your browser to Cloudinary's servers. Even in this case, SizeSnap itself never stores your image. Cloudinary's standard data handling policies apply, and you are always in control.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information. We do not track individual users. We use anonymous analytics to understand how people use the site so we can improve it — nothing more.
Meet the Founder
Mahamudul Hasan
Full-Stack Developer · Bangladesh
Mahamudul Hasan is a full-stack developer from Bangladesh with a passion for building practical, accessible tools that solve real-world problems. He built SizeSnap after repeatedly helping friends and family members struggle with image upload requirements on government and educational portals.
His philosophy is simple: good tools should be free, fast, and respect the user's privacy. SizeSnap is a direct expression of that belief. It's maintained as an independent project, funded through non-intrusive advertising, with a commitment to keeping the core functionality permanently free.
Our Long-Term Vision
SizeSnap is not trying to become a large corporation. It is, and will remain, an independent utility — built to serve a clear purpose without bloat, paywalls, or dark patterns.
The long-term goal is to expand the preset library to cover image size requirements for every major government exam, visa application, and institutional portal across South Asia and beyond. If a portal has a specific requirement, SizeSnap should know about it and make it one-click.
We also plan to improve bulk processing, add more format options, and build offline support so the tool works even without an internet connection — because sometimes you're filling a form in a place with spotty connectivity, and you still need your photo resized.
Built on Trust
SizeSnap earns revenue through Google AdSense display advertising. Ads are clearly separated from tool functionality. There are no fake download buttons, no deceptive elements, and no popups. The goal is to make the ads as unobtrusive as possible while keeping the tool free for everyone.
If you have questions, feedback, or want to report an issue, you're always welcome to reach out. SizeSnap is built by one developer, and your feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next.
