1. Overview

SizeSnap is a browser-based image resizing and compression tool. The vast majority of what you do on SizeSnap happens entirely within your own browser — no data leaves your device during standard image processing. This Privacy Policy applies to the SizeSnap website at https://sizesnap-two.vercel.app and all features provided through it.

By using SizeSnap, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

2. What Information We Collect

SizeSnap is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here is a complete breakdown:

a) Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• Account credentials (no login system exists)
• Payment information (the service is entirely free)
• The images you resize or compress through the standard tool

b) Anonymous Usage Data

We use standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics, if enabled) to understand aggregate usage patterns — pages visited, session duration, device type, browser, and country. This data is anonymous and cannot identify you individually. It helps us understand which features are useful and where we should improve.

c) Contact Form Submissions

If you submit a message via our contact form, we collect your name and email address solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. This data is not shared with third parties and is not used for marketing.

3. How Image Processing Works

This is the most important section for most users, so we want to be completely clear:

The process works as follows: your image is loaded into your browser's memory, processed using the HTML5 Canvas API, and converted into a new file that you download directly. At no point during this process does the image data travel over the internet to any server we control.

Important notice: Please do not upload sensitive or confidential documents — such as passports, national ID cards, or financial documents — to any online tool, including SizeSnap, unless you fully trust the tool's data practices. While we technically cannot see your image during client-side processing, we recommend treating all online tools with appropriate caution for sensitive documents.

4. Cloudinary Upload Feature

SizeSnap includes an optional feature that allows you to upload your processed image to Cloudinary, a third-party cloud media platform, to receive a hosted URL for your image. This feature is entirely opt-in — it is never triggered automatically.

When you choose to use this feature:

• Your processed image is uploaded directly from your browser to Cloudinary's servers.
• The upload is authenticated using a server-signed request to protect our API credentials.
• SizeSnap itself does not store a copy of your image.
• Cloudinary's own Privacy Policy applies to any data they receive.
• Images uploaded to Cloudinary are subject to their data retention and deletion policies.

We recommend not uploading sensitive personal documents using this optional feature.

5. Cookies

SizeSnap uses cookies in limited ways:

a) Essential Cookies

These are necessary for the website to function properly. They do not store personal data and cannot be disabled without breaking site functionality.

b) Analytics Cookies

Anonymous analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use SizeSnap. These track aggregate data such as which pages are most visited and how long sessions last. No personal data is stored in these cookies.

c) Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

SizeSnap displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to our site and other sites across the internet. 8. Data Retention

SizeSnap does not retain image data from standard processing operations because images never leave your browser. For contact form submissions, we retain your message and email for as long as needed to respond, and no longer than 12 months unless required by law. Analytics data is retained per the default settings of our analytics provider and is aggregated and anonymized.

9. Security

SizeSnap is served over HTTPS, ensuring that data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our server-side API endpoints use authentication and validation to prevent unauthorized access. The optional Cloudinary integration uses server-signed requests, ensuring our API secret is never exposed to the client.

While we implement appropriate technical measures, no system is 100% secure. We encourage users not to upload highly sensitive documents (passports, financial records, government IDs) to any online tool unnecessarily.

10. Children's Privacy

SizeSnap does not knowingly collect any personal data from children under the age of 13. The site is a general-purpose utility tool with no registration or user accounts. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of SizeSnap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
